One of the bleakest yet easiest to fix problem with a room is a huge empty wall. Especially if it is the first wall you see upon entering the room. A blank wall can make the room feel bleak. A large wall like this should be put to use to help create a mood or visual effect or maintain an existing color palate that the rest of the house utilizes.
